The LORD Round About His People - Psalms 125:2

In Psalms one hundred twenty-five the Psalmist said, “they that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abides for ever”, and in chapter one hundred twenty-five and verse two of Psalms the Psalmist said, “the LORD is round about his people” where we read,

As the mountains are round about Jerusalem,

so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever.

The verse begins, “As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, ... The Psalmist began with the words, “as the mountains” or “ similar and in likeness to the risings above the plains, hills or ranges of hills” “are round about Jerusalem” which means “surround and encircle Jerusalem whose name means teaching of peace and is the chief city of Palestine and capital of the united kingdom and the nation of Judah after the split”. The Psalmist referred to the likeness of the range of hills that surround the city of “Jerusalem” as compared to the following.

The verse goes on to say, “... so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever. The Psalmist continued with the words, “so the LORD” or “even so, also and indeed Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “is round about his people” which means “surrounds and encircles his, Jehovah God's, human beings both male and female” “from henceforth” or “promptly, from this time and straightaway” “even for ever” which means “indeed for long duration, to futurity, everlasting, evermore, perpetually and unto continuous existence”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God surrounded His human beings continually and unto perpetuity.

When we consider the Psalmist's words in this verse, we learn how Jehovah God encircles people who believe and trust in Him. God loves people, and He desires to have a personal intimate relationship with everyone through His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and surround us with the presence of His Holy Spirit throughout our lives on earth and unto eternity.

Next time the Psalmist says, “the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
