Blessed Be the LORD - Psalms 124:6

In Psalms one hundred twenty-four David said, “the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul. Then the proud waters had gone over our soul”, and in chapter one hundred and twenty-four and verse six of Psalms David said, “blessed be the LORD” where we read,

Blessed be the LORD, who has not given us as a prey to their teeth.

The verse begins, “Blessed be the LORD, ... David began with the word, “blessed” or “praised, saluted and adored” “be the LORD” which means “exists Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. David said Jehovah God was praised, saluted and adored.

The verse goes on to say, “... who has not given us as a prey to their teeth. David continued with the words, “who has not given us” or “who, Jehovah God, has in no way or manner set, put, bestowed, granted, permitted or ascribed us, David and his countrymen” “as a prey” which means “similar and in likeness to fresh food, meat or spoil” “to their teeth” or “toward their, the people who rose up against David and his country-men's forefront ivory and sharp teeth in their mouths”. David referred to how Jehovah God did not allow his and his country-men's to be consumed by those who rose up against them.

When we consider David's words in this verse, we see how he adored Jehovah God because He protected him and his people from the onslaught of their foes. God watches over people who believe and trust in His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of everyone, and when we yield to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and be our defense against those who desire to devour and consume us with their evil plots.

Next time David says, “our soul is escaped as a bird”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
