In Psalms one hundred twenty-two David said, “Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together. Where the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the LORD”, and in chapter one hundred and twenty two and verse five of Psalms David said, Jerusalem is where, “there are set thrones of judgment” where we read,
For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.
The verse begins, “For there are set thrones of judgment, ...” David began with the words, “for there are set thrones” or “because, since and on account that there exists inhabited, placed, settled and established seats and stools of royal dignity, authority and power” “of judgment” which means “belonging to justice, ordinance, acts of deciding a case, process, procedure, litigation and the seat of decision and execution”. David referred to the places of procedure and justice which were established within the city of Jerusalem.
The verse goes on to say, “... the thrones of the house of David.” David continued with the words, “the thrones” or “the seats and stools of royal dignity, authority and power” “of the house” which means “belonging to the dwelling place, habitation and abode” “of David” or “belonging to David whose name means blessed and was the second king of Israel”. David said the seats of judgment belonged to his dwelling place within the city of Jerusalem.
When we think through David's words in this verse, we learn how he was aware of the places of process and procedure which were located within Jerusalem. David loved the city of “Jerusalem” because God loved “Jerusalem”. In the same manner God wants a personal relationship with everyone, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind so this could be. When we yield our lives to Jesus, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us an appreciation for His established places of “judgment” according to His Divine locations and purposes.
Next time David says, “pray for the peace of Jerusalem”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
