In Psalms one hundred twenty-eight the Psalmist said, “The LORD shall bless you out of Zion: and you shall see the good of Jerusalem all the days of your life”, and in chapter one hundred twenty-eight and verse six of Psalms the Psalmist said, “yes, you shall see your children's children” where we read,
Yes, you shall see your children's children, and peace upon Israel.
The verse begins, “Yes, you shall see your children's children, ...” The Psalmist began with the words, “yes, you shall see” or “even so, also and indeed you, people who fear and obey Jehovah God, will observe, ” “your children's children” which means “the offspring and progeny of people's offspring and progeny or grandchildren”. The Psalmist said the people who fear and obey Jehovah God will observe the children of their children or grandchildren.
The verse goes on to say, “... and peace upon Israel.” The Psalmist continued with the words, “and peace” or “and completeness, soundness, welfare, health, prosperity, quiet, tranquility and contentment shall be” “upon Israel” which means “on Israel whose name means God prevails and is the name of the descendants and the nation of the descendants of Jacob”. The Psalmist said calmness and tranquility would come upon the nation of “Israel” for those who fear and obey Jehovah God.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist said people who revere and obey Jehovah God will not only see their own children, but they shall see their grandchildren as well. Rest and tranquility is upon the nation of “Israel” because they keep God in awe and follow what He has to say. God loves people, and He wants to bless them with offspring and calm. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life, allow us to enjoy our families as He brings quiet and contentment in our lives.
Next time we begin a new chapter and see the Psalmist say, “Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
