In Psalms one hundred nineteen the Psalmist said to Jehovah God, “I cried unto you; save me, and I shall keep your testimonies”, and in chapter one hundred nineteen and verse one hundred forty-seven of Psalms the Psalmist said to Jehovah God, “I prevented the dawning of the morning” where we read,
I prevented the dawning of the morning, and cried: I hoped in your word.
The verse begins, “I prevented the dawning of the morning, and cried:” The Psalmist began with the words, “I prevented” or “I, the Psalmist, confronted, anticipated and preceded” “the dawning of the morning” which means “the early twilight and break of day”, “and cried” or “and hallooed and shouted aloud for help”. The Psalmist shared how he anticipated the early twilight and shouted aloud for help.
The verse goes on to say, “I hoped in your word.” The Psalmist continues with the words, “I hoped” or “I, the Psalmist, awaited, tarried and had expectation” “in your word” which means “within your, Jehovah God's, speech, utterance, business, occupation, acts, matters and manner”. The Psalmist shared how he waited and had expectation for Jehovah God's speech, utterance and manner.
When we consider the Psalmist's words in this verse, we learn how he rose before the “dawn” of the morning and shouted aloud unto God because he tarried for Him to speak. There is no “word” like God's “word”, and when He speaks to us, we can rely upon what He says. God loves us, and He proved His love when He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and pay attention to us when we cry aloud to Him before the dawning of the day and have expectation within His “word”.
Next time the Psalmist says, “my eyes prevent the night watches”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
