Peace and Prosperity in Jerusalem - Psalms 122:7

In Psalms one hundred twenty-two David said, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love you”, and in chapter one hundred and twenty two and verse seven of Psalms David said of Jerusalem, “peace be within your walls, and prosperity within your palaces” where we read,

Peace be within your walls, and prosperity within your palaces.

The verse begins, Peace be within your walls, ... David began with the word, “peace” or “completeness, soundness, welfare, prosperity, quiet, tranquility and contentment” “be within your walls” which means “exist inside of your, Jerusalem”s, ramparts, fortresses, army and bulwark”. David called for calm and tranquility to exist within the ramparts and bulwarks of “Jerusalem”.

The verse goes on to say, “... and prosperity within your palaces. David continued with the words, “and prosperity” or “and quietness, ease and abundance” “within your palaces” which means “inside of your, Jerusalem's, citadels, castles and palaces”. David called for there to be quiet and abundance inside of the citadels and palaces of Jerusalem.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how David wanted tranquility, calm and abundance to exist within the guarded ramparts and bulwarks of “Jerusalem”. David knew he could appeal to Jehovah God to bring about tranquility within “Jerusalem”, and the same is true today. God loves people, and He wants to give them peace in their lives. He proved His love toward us by sending His Son Jesus into the world to be crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and bring calm, tranquility and abundance into our lives according to His Divine will and plan.

Next time David says, “for my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within you”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
