Weeping with Precious Seed - Psalms 126:6

In Psalms one hundred twenty-six the Psalmist said “They that sow in tears shall reap in joy”, and in chapter one hundred twenty-six and verse six of Psalms the Psalmist shares about, “he that goes forth and weeps” where we read,

He that goes forth and weeps, bearing precious seed,

shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

The verse begins, “He that goes forth and weeps, bearing precious seed, ... The Psalmist began with the words, “he that goes forth” or “he, the person whether male or female, who proceeds, departs and carries forward” “and weeps” which means “and bewails, cries and sheds tears”, “bearing precious seed” or “taking, carrying and lifting up valuable seed to sow”. The Psalmist referred people who proceed with tears and crying while carrying their valuable seed to sow.

The verse continues, “... shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. The Psalmist added the words, “shall doubtless come again” or “will with assurance attain and be enumerated” “with rejoicing” which means “with ringing cry, entreaty, supplication, proclamation, joy and praise”, “bringing his sheaves” or “lifting up, carrying, supporting and sustaining his, the person whether male or female's, bounded harvest wheat or corn” “with him” which means “alongside him, the person whether male or female”. The Psalmist shared how the person who bears their fruit yielding seed while crying and weeping will without a doubt return with a ringing cry and joy as they carry their bounded harvest with them.

When we consider the words in this verse, we discover how the Psalmist repeated the idea of people sowing their seed while weeping but harvesting their crops with joy and praise. God knows this process because He sowed the seed of His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. This sorrow turned into joy for those who believe and trust in His Son Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord. When we surrender our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and fill our lives with joy even when we scatter our seeds of hope with weeping and tears.

Next time we begin a new chapter and see the Psalmist say, “except the LORD build the house, they labor in vain that build it”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
