Jerusalem Where the Tribes Go Up - Psalms 122:4

In Psalms one hundred twenty-two David said, “Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together”, and in chapter one hundred and twenty two and verse four of Psalms David said, Jerusalem is, “where the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD” where we read,

Where the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD,

unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the LORD.

The verse begins, “Where the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, ... David began with the words, “where the tribes” or “in the place or location that the clubs or clans” “go up” which means “ascend, retreat and climb”, “the tribes” or “the clubs or clans” “of the LORD” which means “belonging to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. David said “Jerusalem” was the location that the clans of Israel who belonged to Jehovah God ascended.

The verse continues, “... unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the LORD. David added the words, “unto the testimony” or “toward the witness” “of Israel” which means “belonging to Israel whose name means God prevails and was the name of the descendants and the nation of the descendants of Jacob”, “to give thanks” or “to grant, bestow and confess praise, worship and laud” “unto the name” which means “toward the fame, reputation and glory” “of the LORD” or “belonging to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. David said “Jerusalem” was the place where the witness of the people in the nation of “Israel” ascended for the purpose of giving worship, thanksgiving and honor to the fame, reputation and glory of Jehovah God.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how David saw “Jerusalem” as the place where Jehovah God's “tribes of Israel” ascended with their witness and praise to Him and His reputation, fame and glory. God deserves our praise, and He loves us. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for our sins, and when we surrender our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to bear witness like the people of Israel as we give praise, honor and glory to Him.

Next time David says Jerusalem is where, “there are set thrones of judgment”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
