In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it”, and in chapter two and verse twenty-two of Proverbs Solomon said, “the wicked shall be cut off from the earth” where we read,
But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.
The verse begins, “But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, ...”. Solomon began with the words, “but the wicked” or “however, moreover, nonetheless and notwithstanding people who are criminal, guilty of crimes and sin, morally wrong and bad” “shall be cut off” which means “will exist as eliminated, destroyed and taken away” “from the earth” or “separate and apart from the country, territory, region and world”. Solomon shared how people who are morally bad and wrong will be destroyed and taken away from the world.
The verse continues, “... and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.” Solomon added the words, “and the transgressors” or “and people who are treacherous, deceitful, faithless and offensive” “shall be rooted out of it” which means “will exist as plucked out, torn away and destroyed from the world”. Solomon said people who are treacherous, faithless and offensive will be plucked out of the world.
When we consider Solomon's words in this verse, we learn the fate of people who are criminal, evil and treacherous. They will be eliminated and torn away from the world. God does not want this for anyone, and only those who refuse to receive His salvation from sins through His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind will be among this group. God wants us to humble ourselves, repent of our sins and receive His forgiveness and eternal life that will keep us from the evil ones and their destiny. Let all who read these words give heed to the warning of Solomon and yield themselves to Jesus today.
Next time we begin a new chapter and see Solomon say, “my son, forget not my law”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
