In Psalms one hundred four the Psalmist said of Jehovah God, “Who covers yourself with light as with a garment: who stretches out the heavens like a curtain. Who lays the beams of his chambers in the waters: who makes the clouds his chariot: who walks upon the wings of the wind. Who makes his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire”, and in chapter one hundred four and verse five of Psalms the Psalmist said, “Who laid the foundations of the earth” where we read,
Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.
The verse begins, “Who laid the foundations of the earth, ...” The Psalmist began with the words, “who laid the foundations” or “who, Jehovah God, founded, fixed, established and began the construct and established place” “of the earth” which means “belonging to the land, ground, territory, region and world”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God established the set place and construct of the world.
The verse goes on to say, “... that it should not be removed for ever.” The Psalmist continued with the words, “that it should not be removed” or “so the foundation of the world should in no way totter, shake, be overthrown and dislodged” “for ever” which means “for long duration, futurity, everlasting, perpetually and unto continuous existence”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God established the “foundation of the earth” in such a way that it would in not totter, shake or be dislodged eternally.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist referred to the way Jehovah God fashioned and established the base of the world so that it would not totter, shake or be dislodged eternally. God created the earth, and He oversees the longevity of it. He made the world for mankind, and His desire is to establish a relationship with everyone through His Son Jesus. He sent Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to live on His established foundation according to His perfect will and plan.
Next time the Psalmist says of Jehovah God, “you cover it with the deep”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
