Springs into the Valleys - Psalms 104:10

In Psalms one hundred four the Psalmist said of the deep waters of the earth that Jehovah God, “set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth”, and in chapter one hundred four and verse ten of Psalms the Psalmist said of Jehovah God, “He sends the springs into valleys” where we read,

He sends the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills.

The verse begins, He sends the springs into the valleys, ... The Psalmist began with the words, “he sends the springs” or “He, Jehovah God, dispatches and assigns, the fountains and wells” “into the valleys” which means “into the lower plains, torrents, wadis and shafts”. The Psalmist shared how Jehovah God dispatched the fountains and wells into the lower plains or wadis.

The verse continues,... which run among the hills. The Psalmist added the words, “which run” or “that proceed, move and traverse” “among the hills” which means “between and in the midst of the risings above the plains or range of mountains”. The Psalmist referred to the way Jehovah God assigned the fountains to traverse along the mountainsides.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist recounted the way Jehovah God dispatches the fountains and wells to run into the plains that traverse beneath the mountainsides. God is able to dispatch and assign any part of the world He desires because He created it, and He directs the flows and rhythms within it. This same Jehovah God wants to have a personal intimate relationship with everyone, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind to make that possible. When Jesus died, He took on the punishment that was due to us, and when we believe and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to be a part of His created and perfectly designed world.

Next time the Psalmist says of the waters, “they give drink to every beast of the field”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
