In Psalms one hundred nineteen the Psalmist said, “Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven. Your faithfulness is unto all generations: you have established the earth, and it abides”, and in chapter one hundred nineteen and verse ninety-one of Psalms the Psalmist said, “they continue this day according to your ordinances” where we read,
They continue this day according to your ordinances: for all are your servants.
The verse begins, “They continue this day according to your ordinances:” The Psalmist began with the words, “they continue this day” or “they, the directions and commandments of Jehovah God, stand, remain and endure from this particular time period” “according to your ordinances” which means “in keeping with your, Jehovah God's, judgment, act of deciding a case, process, procedure and decision”. The Psalmist referred to how Jehovah God's directions and commandments remain from the current day in keeping with His processes and procedures.
The verse goes on to say, “for all are your servants.” The Psalmist continued with the words, “for all” or “because, each, every, the whole and everyone” “are your servants” which means “exist as your, Jehovah God's, bondmen, men of servile condition and worshipers”. The Psalmist said everything exists as Jehovah God's “servants”.
When we think through the Psalmist's words in this verse, we see how he referred to the everlasting “ordinances” of Jehovah God which are made and employed to “serve” Him. God gave His word to mankind because He desires a relationship with us. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to be crucified on the cross for the sins of everyone, and when we yield to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and “serve” and “worship” Him in keeping with His commandments and law.
Next time the Psalmist tells what would happen, “unless your law had been my delights”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
