In Psalms one hundred nineteen the Psalmist said, “forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven”, and in chapter one hundred nineteen and verse ninety of Psalms the Psalmist said to Jehovah God, “your faithfulness is unto all generations” where we read,
Your faithfulness is unto all generations: you have established the earth, and it abides.
The verse begins, “Your faithfulness is unto all generations:” The Psalmist began with the words, “your faithfulness” or “your, Jehovah God's, firmness, fidelity, steadfastness and steadiness” “is unto all generations” which means “exists toward each, every, the whole and everyone of the periods, times and ages of people”. The Psalmist declared that Jehovah God's fidelity and steadfastness was toward every age of people who live.
The verse continues, “you have established the earth, and it abides.” The Psalmist added the words, “you have established the earth” or “you, Jehovah God, have made the country, district, region, territory and world firm, stable, secure and enduring”, “and it abides” which means “and it, the earth, stands, tarries, endures and remains”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God made the world firm and enduring, and it will stand and remain.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how the Psalmist understood that Jehovah God's fidelity and steadfastness exists toward people from every age. God made the world, and He set it in place. He will allow it to continue for as long as He desires, and this same God desires to have a personal relationship with us through His Son Jesus. When Jesus was sent into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, God made a way for us to believe and trust in Him. As we do, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and teach us about His “faithfulness” and “establishing” of the world through His Holy Spirit.
Next time the Psalmist says, “they continue this day according to your ordinances”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
