Psalms one hundred nineteen and verse ninety-seven begins the next section of this chapter with the Hebrew letter “MEM” where the Psalmist said, “O how love I your law” where we read,
O how love I your law! it is my meditation all the day.
The verse begins, “O how love I your law!” The Psalmist began with the words, “O how love I” or “O in what kind of way am I, the Psalmist, affectionate and like a friend to” “your law” which means “your, Jehovah God's, direction, instructions, custom, manner and codes of law”. The Psalmist exclaimed that he was affectionate for Jehovah God's direction and codes of law.
The verse goes on to say, “it is my meditation all the day.” The Psalmist continued with the words, “it is my meditation” or “it, the law of Jehovah God, exists as my, the Psalmist's, reflection, prayer, devotion and musing” “all the day” which means “throughout the entire and total sunrise to sunset”. The Psalmist said he reflected upon and had Jehovah God's “direction and codes of law” as his devotion throughout the sunrise to sunset.
When we think through the Psalmist's words in this verse, we learn how much he cared for the “law” of God. He referred to it throughout his day, and the direction and instruction from God was his devotional. God loves us, and He gave us His word, the Bible, to reference and “meditate” upon every day. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die for our sins so He may have a personal intimate relationship with us. When we believe and trust in Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and lead us by His Holy Spirit every day as He reminds us of His direction and instruction for our lives.
Next time the Psalmist says to Jehovah God, “you through your commandments have made me wiser”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
