Seeing an End of All Perfection - Psalms 119:96

In Psalms one hundred nineteen the Psalmist said to Jehovah God, “The wicked have waited for me to destroy me: but I will consider your testimonies”, and in chapter one hundred nineteen and verse ninety-six of Psalms the Psalmist said, “I have seen an end of all perfection” where we read,

I have seen an end of all perfection: but your commandment is exceeding broad.

The verse begins, I have seen an end of all perfection: The Psalmist began with the words, “I have seen an end” or “I, the Psalmist, have observed, noticed, discerned and discovered the extreme, utmost and finite process” “of all perfections” which means “belonging to each, every, the whole and everyone of the finish and completeness of things”. The Psalmist referred to how he observed the extreme and finite process of everything that could be completed.

The verse continues, but your commandment is exceeding broad. The Psalmist added the words, “but your commandment” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover your, Jehovah God's, law, ordinance and precept” “is exceeding broad” which means “exists as abundant, with great degree, wide and large”. The Psalmist noted how Jehovah God's law was abundantly large.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how the Psalmist referred to his observation of the utmost process for everything that could be completed, and still, Jehovah God's, law was abundantly wide and available to everyone. God wants us to know His commandments, and He gave His law to us so we can live the best life on earth before His eyes. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to be crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and not only show us the “end of all perfection”, but also how His law is abundantly wide for all to observe and obey.

Next time we study the next section of this chapter which begins with the Hebrew letter “MEM” where the Psalmist says to Jehovah God, “O how love I your law”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
