I Have Not Departed from Your Judgments - Psalms 119:102

In Psalms one hundred nineteen the Psalmist said, “I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep your word”, and in chapter one hundred nineteen and verse one hundred and two of Psalms the Psalmist said to Jehovah God, “I have not departed from your judgments” where we read,

I have not departed from your judgments: for you have taught me.

The verse begins, “I have not departed from your judgments: The Psalmist began with the words, “I have not departed” or “I, the Psalmist, have in no way or manner left, turned aside and been removed” “from your judgments” which means “separate and apart from your, Jehovah God's, justice, ordinances, processes, procedures, litigation and acts of deciding a case”. The Psalmist said that he in no way left the ordinances, processes and procedures of Jehovah God.

The verse continues, “for you have taught me. The Psalmist added the words, “for you” or “because, since and on account that you, Jehovah God” “have taught me” which means “have directed, instructed and informed me, the Psalmist”. The Psalmist said the reason he did not “depart from” the ordinances of Jehovah God was because God Himself instructed him in them.

When we consider the Psalmist words in this verse, we learn how he did not leave the commandments and law of Jehovah God because God instructed him in His word. The Bible is God's word, and He wants us to know His direction for living. He gave His Son Jesus to the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and continually instruct us in His processes and procedures for all the days of our lives.

Next time the Psalmist says to Jehovah God, “how sweet are your words unto my taste”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
