My Soul is Continually in My Hand - Psalms 119:109

In Psalms one hundred nineteen the Psalmist said to Jehovah God, “Accept, I beseech you, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O LORD, and teach me your judgments”, and in chapter one hundred nineteen and verse one hundred and nine of Psalms the Psalmist said, “my soul is continually in my hand” where we read,

My soul is continually in my hand: yet do I not forget your law.

The verse begins, “My soul is continually in my hand: The Psalmist began with the words, “my soul” or “my, the Psalmist's, heart, mind, will, desires, conscience, living being and seat of emotions and passions” “is continually” which means “exists as perpetually, continuously and constantly” “in my hand” or “within my, the Psalmist's, palm, hallow and middle physical hand”. The Psalmist referred to how his heart, mind and will was constantly as close as the hallow of his hand.

The verse goes on to say, “yet do I not forget your law. The Psalmist continued with the words, “yet do I not forget” or “still the Psalmist in no way nor manner ceased to care for, ignored or withered away from” “your law” which means “your, Jehovah God's, direction, instruction, custom, manner and codes of law”. The Psalmist shared how he did not cease to care for nor ignore Jehovah God's direction, instruction and codes of law.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how the Psalmist said his heart, mind and will were constantly as near to him as the palm of his hand, and this is why he kept Jehovah God's codes of law in his mind at all times. God wants us to know Him, and when we apply His instruction and direction for our lives, we live in the best way available to us. God loves us, and He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. When we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to constantly hold our souls near us as we keep his instruction for living in our minds.

Next time the Psalmist says, “the wicked have laid a snare for me”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
