Delivered from the Evil Man's Way - Proverbs 2:12

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “When wisdom enters into your heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto your soul. Discretion shall preserve you, understanding shall keep you”, and in chapter two and verse twelve of Proverbs Solomon said, “to deliver you from the way of the evil man” where we read,

To deliver you from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaks froward things;

The verse begins, “To deliver you from the way of the evil man, .... Solomon began with the words, “to deliver you” or “to rescue, save and liberate you, Solomon's son, separate and apart” “from the way” which means “apart from the road, path, distance, journey, manner and direction” “of the evil man” or “belonging to the person whether male or female who is bad, disagreeable, malignant, miserable, unhappy, unkind and wicked”. Solomon shared how “wisdom and discretion” would rescue his son and the godly person from the manner and direction of the ungodly and wicked person.

The verse continues, “... from the man that speaks froward things;” Solomon added the words, “from the man” or “separate and apart from the person whether male or female” “that speaks froward things” which means “who utters, declares and proclaims perverse and fraudulent words”. Solomon said “discretion and wisdom” would rescue his son and the person who is pious and godly from the person who utters perversities and falsehoods.

When we consider Solomon's words in this verse, we learn how important “discretion and wisdom” are for living. God wants people to have and live by His wise ways, and when we abide by His instructions for living, we will be kept safe from people who are wicked and proclaim fraudulent things. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we surrender our lives to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and provide His ways of wisdom to rescue us from the wicked person's manner of living and from the people who make false claims.

Next time Solomon shares about, “the paths of uprightness” and “the ways of darkness”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Discretion Shall Preserve You - Proverbs 2:11

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said to his son and godly people, “When wisdom enters into your heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto your soul”, and in chapter two and verse eleven of Proverbs Solomon said, “discretion shall preserve you” where we read,

Discretion shall preserve you, understanding shall keep you:

The verse begins, “Discretion shall preserve you, .... Solomon began with the word, “discretion” or “purpose, devise, plot, plan and intent” “shall preserve you” which means “will keep, guard, watch over, protect and have charge of you, Solomon's son and the godly and pious person”. Solomon shared how purpose and planning would watch over and protect his son and people when they are godly and pious.

The verse goes on to say, “... understanding shall keep you:” Solomon continued with the word, “understanding” or “skill, intelligence, insight, caprice, reason and wisdom” “shall keep you” which means “will guard, watch over, keep and preserve you, Solomon's son and the godly person”. Solomon said skill and intelligence would watch over and preserve his son and people who are pious and godly.

When we think through the words in this verse, we learn how Solomon knew his son and godly people needed a purpose and plan for their lives, and intelligence and insight would watch over and protect them. God gave Solomon this “wisdom”, and He wants us to have it as well. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us His “discretion” and “understanding” to manage our lives within His presence and before His eyes.

Next time Solomon adds, “to deliver you from the way of the evil man”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

When Wisdom Enters Your Heart - Proverbs 2:10

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said the LORD, “keeps the paths of judgment, and preserves the way of his saints. Then shall you understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yes, every good path”, and in chapter two and verse ten of Proverbs Solomon began to share what happens, “when wisdom enters into your heart” where we read,

When wisdom enters into your heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto your soul;

The verse begins, When wisdom enters into your heart, .... Solomon began with the words, “when wisdom” or “at the time and moment skill, shrewdness and prudence” “enters into your heart” which means “comes forth and proceeds within your, Solomon's son and the godly and pious person's, soul, mind, will, desires, living being, conscience and seat of emotions and affections”. Solomon considered the time and moment that shrewdness and prudence comes within a godly person's soul, mind and will.

The verse continues, “... and knowledge is pleasant unto your soul;” Solomon added the words, “and knowledge” or “and perceptions, skill, discernment and understanding” “is pleasant” which means “exists as beautiful, sweet, delightful and lovely” “unto your soul” or “toward your, Solomon's son and the godly and pious person's, heart, mind, will, desires, conscience, living being and seat or emotions and affections”. Solomon consider the time that skill, discernment and understanding exists as beautiful and sweet to the pious person's heart, mind and will.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how Solomon considered the time that skill and prudence comes into the godly person's soul. He understood how perception and understanding is available to the heart and mind of the person who is faithful and pious. God's “wisdom and knowledge” are available to everyone through a personal relationship with His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we put our faith and trust in Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us His skill, prudence, discernment and understanding within our “hearts and souls” to employ every day of our lives.

Next time Solomon says, “discretion shall preserve you”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Understanding Righteousness - Proverbs 2:9

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said the LORD, “keeps the paths of judgment, and preserves the way of his saints”, and in chapter two and verse nine of Proverbs Solomon said, “then shall you understand righteousness” where we read,

Then shall you understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yes, every good path.

The verse begins, Then shall you understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity;. Solomon began with the words, “then shall you understand righteousness” or “at that time will you, the people who are faithful and pious, discern, consider, perceive, observe, distinguish and have insight into what is right, just, correct and lawful”, “and judgment” which means “and justice, ordinance, process, procedure, litigation and deciding a case”, “and equity” or “and evenness, uprightness, straightness, smoothness and agreement”. Solomon shared how people who are godly and pious have the benefit of discerning and perceiving what is right, correct, lawful, just and straight.

The verse goes on to say, yes, every good path.” Solomon continued with the word, “yes” or “even so, also and indeed”, “every good path” which means “each, all, the whole and everyone of the pleasant, agreeable, kind, benign and right entrenchments and tracks”. Solomon confirmed that when a person is godly and pious each and everyone of their tracks of living are pleasant and agreeable.

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon how Jehovah God wants us to perceive and have insight into what is just, correct and upright, and He will guide us into all pleasant ways of living. God loves us, and He proved His love by sending His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us the insight to live lawful, correct and straight before Him.

Next time Solomon begins to tell his son what happens, “when wisdom enters into your hear”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Keeping the Paths of Judgment - Proverbs 2:8

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “the LORD gives wisdom: out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. He lays up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly”, and in chapter two and verse eight of Proverbs Solomon said, “he keeps the paths of judgment” where we read,

He keeps the paths of judgment, and preserves the way of his saints.

The verse begins, He keeps the paths of judgment,. Solomon began with the words, “he keeps the paths” or “he, Jehovah God, guards, watches over, preserves and observes the travels, roads, passing of life and ways to live” “of judgment” which means “pertaining to justice, ordinance, process, procedure, litigation, decision, manner and plan”. Solomon shared how Jehovah God watches over the ways pertaining to justice, procedure and litigation.

The verse continues, “... and preserves the way of his saints.” Solomon added the words, “and preserves the way” or “and keeps, guards, watches over, has charge of and protects the path, journey, manner, habit and course of life” “of his saints” which means “belonging to his, Jehovah God's, faithful, kind, godly and pious one”. Solomon said Jehovah God watches over and protects the course of life of the people who are faithful and pious.

When we think through Solomon's words in this verse, we learn how Jehovah God is involved in the lives of the people who are faithful and pious before Him. This is the kind of relationship God wants with every person, however, sin separates people from a relationship with God. God so loved people that He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and watch over us as we live in a godly manner before Him.

Next time Solomon says, “then shall you understand righteousness”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Sound Wisdom for the Righteous - Proverbs 2:7

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “the LORD gives wisdom: out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding”, and in chapter two and verse seven of Proverbs Solomon said, “he lays up sound wisdom for the righteous” where we read,

He lays up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.

The verse begins, He lays up sound wisdom for the righteous:. Solomon began with the words, “he lays up sound wisdom” or “He, Jehovah God, treasures up, reserves and specifically lurks and hides success, efficient knowledge, help and ability” “for the righteous” which means “on behalf of people who are right, just, correct and lawful”. Solomon shared how Jehovah God treasures and specifically reserves efficient knowledge on behalf of people who are just, correct and lawful.

The verse goes on to say,he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.” Solomon added the words, “he is a buckler” or “he, Jehovah God, exists as a protector, armed defense and shield” “to them that walk uprightly” which means “toward the people who depart, move away and live in a complete, innocent, full and simplistic manner”. Solomon said Jehovah God exists as an armed defense to people who make their way in a complete and innocent manner.

When we meditate upon Solomon's words in this verse, we learn that Jehovah God stores up knowledge and understanding for people who are just and lawful, and He exists as an armed shield to people who make their way through life in a full and innocent manner. God is for us, and He loves us. He desires to have a personal relationship with us through His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we believe and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us His “wisdom” and protection as we live lawfully before His eyes.

Next time Solomon says, “he keeps the paths of judgment”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
