Let Everything that Has Breath Praise the LORD - Psalms 150:6

In Psalms one hundred and fifty the Psalmist said to praise Jehovah God, “with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals”, and in chapter one hundred and fifty and verse six of Psalms the Psalmist said, “Let every thing that has breath praise the LORD” where we read,

Let every thing that has breath praise the LORD. Praise you the LORD.

The verse begins, Let every thing that has breath praise the LORD.. The Psalmist began with the words, “let every thing” or “allow and permit each, every, the whole and all living things” “that has breath” which means “that own and possess wind, soul, spirit, intellect and divine inspiration” “praise the LORD” or “give adoration, worship and thanksgiving to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God. The Psalmist said his readers and listeners were to allow anything that breathes to give adoration, thanksgiving and worship to Jehovah God.

The verse continues, “Praise you the LORD.” The Psalmist added the words, “praise you” or “you, people reading and listening to the Psalmist's words, give worship, adoration and thanksgiving to” “the LORD” which means “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. The Psalmist repeated the idea of giving adoration and thanksgiving to Jehovah God.

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist ended this Psalm and his book of Psalms with the idea of giving honor, thanksgiving, adoration and worship to Jehovah God. Anything that has breath within their body is to worship Jehovah God, and as human beings, we have the greatest opportunity of all. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (See John 3:16), and “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (See 1 John 1:9). God wants to forgive us. God wants to give us everlasting life, and God wants us to spend all eternity in fellowship with Him as we honor Him with our adoration, thanksgiving and “praise”.

Next time we begin a new book, the book of Proverbs, where Solomon writes, “the proverbs of Solomon the son of David”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
