In the book of Proverbs Solomon said the LORD, “keeps the paths of judgment, and preserves the way of his saints”, and in chapter two and verse nine of Proverbs Solomon said, “then shall you understand righteousness” where we read,
Then shall you understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yes, every good path.
The verse begins, “Then shall you understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity;”. Solomon began with the words, “then shall you understand righteousness” or “at that time will you, the people who are faithful and pious, discern, consider, perceive, observe, distinguish and have insight into what is right, just, correct and lawful”, “and judgment” which means “and justice, ordinance, process, procedure, litigation and deciding a case”, “and equity” or “and evenness, uprightness, straightness, smoothness and agreement”. Solomon shared how people who are godly and pious have the benefit of discerning and perceiving what is right, correct, lawful, just and straight.
The verse goes on to say, “yes, every good path.” Solomon continued with the word, “yes” or “even so, also and indeed”, “every good path” which means “each, all, the whole and everyone of the pleasant, agreeable, kind, benign and right entrenchments and tracks”. Solomon confirmed that when a person is godly and pious each and everyone of their tracks of living are pleasant and agreeable.
When we consider the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon how Jehovah God wants us to perceive and have insight into what is just, correct and upright, and He will guide us into all pleasant ways of living. God loves us, and He proved His love by sending His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us the insight to live lawful, correct and straight before Him.
Next time Solomon begins to tell his son what happens, “when wisdom enters into your hear”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
