In Psalms one hundred and forty eight the Psalmist said, “Praise you him, all his angels: praise you him, all his hosts. Praise you him, sun and moon: praise him, all you stars of light. Praise him, you heavens of heavens, and you waters that be above the heaven. Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were created. He has also established them for ever and ever: he has made a decree which shall not pass”, and in Psalms one hundred and forty eight and verse seven of Psalms the Psalmist said, “praise the LORD from the earth” where we read,
Praise the LORD from the earth, you dragons, and all deeps:
The verse begins, “Praise the LORD from the earth ...”. The Psalmist began with the words, “Praise the LORD” or “you, people who are reading and listening to the Psalmist's words, give thanksgiving, adoration and worship to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “from the earth” which means “separate, apart and above the country, territory, land, ground, district, region and world”. The Psalmist called upon the entire world to give thanksgiving and worship to Jehovah God.
The verse continues, “... you dragons, and all deeps:” The Psalmist added the words, “you dragons” or “you serpents, sea monsters, dinosaurs, river monsters or venomous snakes”, “and all deeps” which means “and each, every, the whole and everyone of the depths, abysses, primeval oceans, depths and the grave”. The Psalmist exhorted every sea monster and deep places of the world to give “praise” unto Jehovah God.
When we consider the words in this verse, we learn how the Psalmist wanted more parts of creation to give Jehovah God adoration and thanksgiving. God made everything, and all of His creation from the “world” itself unto the serpents and deep places of the world are to worship Him. God wants to have an intimate personal relationship with us, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind to make this possible. When we surrender to Jesus, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and teach us to worship and adore Him even as the “serpents, depths and the world”.
Next time the Psalmist shares about, “fire, and hail; snow, and vapor”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
