In Psalms one hundred and fifty the Psalmist said, “Praise God in his sanctuary”, and in chapter one hundred and fifty and verse one of Psalms the Psalmist said completely,
Praise you the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.
The verse begins, “Praise you the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary:”. The Psalmist began with the words, “Praise you the LORD” or “you, people who are reading and listening to the Psalmist's words, give adoration, thanksgiving and worship to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. “Praise God” which means “give adorations, thanksgiving and worship to the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God” “in his sanctuary” or “within his, Jehovah God's, separate, apart, sacred and holy place of worship”. The Psalmist exhorted his readers and listeners to give adoration and thanksgiving to Jehovah God within His sacred worship place as their Divine judge and ruler.
The verse goes on to say, “praise him in the firmament of his power.” The Psalmist continued with the words, “praise him” or “give adoration and thanksgiving to him, Jehovah God” “in the firmament” which means “within the extended surface and solid expanse” “of his power” or “belonging to his, Jehovah God's, strength, might and ability”. The Psalmist exhorted his readers and listeners to give adoration and thanksgiving to Jehovah God in the wide expanse of His strength and might.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist urged his readers and listeners to give adoration and thanksgiving to Jehovah God. They were to honor and give glory to their “Divine judge and ruler” as they worshiped Him in His sacred worship place. God wants everyone to give Him honor, “praise” and glory, and they do so when they receive His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind as their personal “Savior and Lord”. As we surrender to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and inspire us to give Him glory, honor and “praise” for all eternity in the wide expanse of His “sanctuary” and world.
Next time the Psalmist says, “praise him for his mighty acts”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
