Wisdom Cries Without - Proverbs 1:20

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said of sinners, “they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives. So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which takes away the life of the owners thereof”, and in chapter one and verse twenty of Proverbs Solomon said, “wisdom cries without” where we read,

Wisdom cries without; she utters her voice in the streets:

The verse begins, Wisdom cries without;. Solomon began with the word, “wisdom” or “cognitive content or proper use of knowledge” “cries without” which means “rejoices, sings aloud, shouts for joy and gives a ringing cry”. Solomon shared how the proper use of knowledge sings aloud and gives a ringing cry.

The verse goes on to say, “she utters her voice in the streets:” Solomon continued with the words, “she utters her voice” or “she, wisdom, gives, puts, bestows, permits, devotes and consecrates her, wisdom's, sound and noise of words” “in the streets” which means “within the broad or open places or plazas”. Solomon said “wisdom” bestows and consecrates “her” words in the open plazas.

When we think through Solomon's words in this verse, we learn how “wisdom” is not only available to everyone, but it also shouts aloud like an invitation for all to partake. God is wise, and no one knows more than He. He gave us salvation through His Son Jesus who came into the world to be crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we put our faith and trust in Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and provide us with His “wisdom” through His Holy Spirit to make our way in the world.

Next time Solomon says wisdom, “cries in the chief place of concourse”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
