When the LORD Shall Build Up Zion - Psalms 102:16

In Psalms one hundred and two the Psalmist said, “the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth your glory”, and in chapter one hundred two and verse sixteen of Psalms the Psalmist said, “when the LORD shall build up Zion” where we read,

When the LORD shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.

The verse begins, When the LORD shall build up Zion, ... The Psalmist began with the words, “when the LORD” or “at the time and moment Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “shall build up Zion” which means “will rebuild, cause to continue and establish Zion whose name means parched place and was another name for Jerusalem especially in the prophetic books”. The Psalmist referred to the time that Jehovah God would establish “Zion” or “Jerusalem”.

The verse goes on to say,... he shall appear in his glory. The Psalmist continued with the words, “he shall appear” or “he, Jehovah God, will be perceived, regarded, observed and given attention” “in his glory” which means “within his, Jehovah God's, splendor, honor, abundance and riches”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God would make known His splendor, honor and abundance.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how the Psalmist knew there was a specific time when Jehovah God would reestablish “Zion” or “Jerusalem”, and at that moment, He would reveal Himself in all His splendor. God desires to reveal Himself to every person, and He sent His Son Jesus to the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind to do so. God loves us, and when we surrender to His Son Jesus, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and establish us as He reveals Himself in His splendor and abundance.

Next time the Psalmist says, “He will regard the prayer of the destitute”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
