In Psalms one hundred thirty five the Psalmist said, “The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men's hands. They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not; They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths. They that make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusts in them”, and in chapter one hundred thirty five and verse nineteen of Psalms the Psalmist said, “Bless the LORD, O house of Israel” where we read,
Bless the LORD, O house of Israel: bless the LORD, O house of Aaron:
The verse begins, “Bless the LORD, O house of Israel:” The Psalmist began with the words, “Bless the LORD” or “adore, praise, salute and congratulate Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”, “O house of Israel” which means “O dwelling place, habitation and abode belonging to Israel whose name means God prevails and is the name of the descendants and the nation of the descendants of Jacob”. The Psalmist called upon the people within the dwelling places in the nation of “Israel” to adore, praise and celebrate Jehovah God.
The verse goes on to say, “bless the LORD, O house of Aaron:” The Psalmist continued with the words, “bless the LORD” or “adore, praise, salute and congratulate Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”, “O house of Aaron” which means “O dwelling place, habitation and abode belonging to Aaron whose name means light bringer and was the brother of Moses, a Levite and the first high priest”. The Psalmist called upon the people within the dwelling places belonging to “Aaron” to praise, adore and celebrate Jehovah God.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist wanted the people within the dwelling places of “Israel” and “Aaron” to give praise, honor and glory to Jehovah God. God deserves our praise, and He shall have it. One day, regardless of who we are, we shall bow our knee and use our tongues to confess that Jesus Christ is “LORD”. (See Romans 14:11; Philippians 2:10) God loves us, and when we yield our lives to Jesus who died on the cross for our sins, He will forgive us, grant us everlasting life and allow us to join with the people of “Israel and Aaron” and “bless” Him for all eternity .
Next time the Psalmist says, “Bless the LORD, O house of Levi”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
