In Psalms one hundred and forty David said, “I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor”, and in chapter one hundred and forty and verse thirteen of Psalms David said, “surely the righteous shall give thanks unto your name” where we read,
Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto your name: the upright shall dwell in your presence.
The verse begins, “Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto your name:” David began with the words, “surely the righteous” or “but, yet and indeed people who are just, right, lawful and correct” “shall give thanks” which means “will confess and bestow laud, thanksgiving, praise, reverence and worship” “unto your name” or “toward your, Jehovah God's, fame, reputation and glory”. David said the just, right and correct people would indeed bestow worship, praise and thanksgiving unto Jehovah God.
The verse goes on to say, “the upright shall dwell in your presence.” David continued with the words, “the upright” or “the straight, correct, right, level and pleasing” “shall dwell in your presence” which means “will live, abide, remain and inhabit your, Jehovah God's, person, front and face”. David said people who are correct and right to Jehovah God would live and remain before His countenance and face.
When we think through David's words in this verse, we see how he declared that people who are right and correct would certainly bestow thanksgiving and reverence to Jehovah God. They will also remain before the countenance and face of Jehovah God, and this is the way God wants it for us all. We all have sin in our lives which separates us from a personal relationship with God, so He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us not only to give praise and reverence into His fame, reputation and glory, but also to live and remain with Him forever.
Next time we begin a new chapter and see David say, “LORD, I cry unto you”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
