In Psalms one hundred thirty six the Psalmist said, “O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endures for ever. To him who alone does great wonders: for his mercy endures for ever”, and in chapter one hundred and thirty six and verse five of Psalms the Psalmist shared how Jehovah God, “by wisdom made the heavens” where we read,
To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endures for ever.
The verse begins, “To him that by wisdom made the heavens:” The Psalmist began with the words, “to him that by wisdom” or “toward him, Jehovah God, who through understanding, intelligence, multiplication, discretion, reason, skillfulness and caprice” “made the heavens” which means “formed, fashioned, accomplished and produced the visible heavens, skies, atmosphere and abode of Jehovah God”. The Psalmist wanted his readers and listeners to “give thanks” to Jehovah God who fashioned the skies and His Heavenly abode.
The verse continues, “for his mercy endures for ever.” The Psalmist added the words, “for his mercy” or “because, since and on account that his, Jehovah God's, goodness, kindness and faithfulness” “endures for ever” which means “lasts and remains for long duration, unto futurity, everlasting, evermore, perpetually and unto perpetuity”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God is pleasant, good, kind and faithful, and these qualities shall last unto futurity.
When we consider the Psalmist's words in this verse, we discover how he wanted people to bestow praise, honor and glory upon Jehovah God because He employed His “reason, discretion and skillfulness” to fashion the skies and His Heavenly abode. God wants us to see and perceive His wonderful acts and deeds, and His greatest act was to send His Son Jesus into the world to be crucified for the sins of all mankind. When we yield our lives to Him as our personal “Lord and Savior”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and open our eyes to His exceedingly marvelous acts and deeds which were performed on earth even as it is in Heaven.
Next time the Psalmist shares how Jehovah God, “stretched out the earth above the waters”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
