When Their Judges are Overthrown - Psalms 141:6

In Psalms one hundred and forty one David said, “Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities”, and in chapter one hundred and forty one and verse six of Psalms David shared about, When their judges are overthrown” where we read,

When their judges are overthrown in stony places, they shall hear my words; for they are sweet.

The verse begins, When their judges are overthrown in stony places, ... David began with the words, “when their judges” or “at the time and moment the law-givers, governors and ones who pronounce vindication of their, the wicked people” “are overthrown” which means “are dropped, loosed, fallen or thrown down” “in stony places” or “within crags, cliffs or strongholds”. David considered what would happen at the time and moment the wicked people against him were thrown down into strongholds and crags.

The verse goes on to say, “... they shall hear my words; for they are sweet.” David continued with the words, “they shall hear” or “they, the wicked people, will perceive, understand, notice, discern and distinguish” “my words” which means “my, David's, utterances, speeches, promises and commands”; “for they are sweet” or “because, since and on account that they, the utterances and speeches of David, exist as pleasant, beautiful, delightful and lovely”. David shared how the wicked people would understand his pleasant and delightful speeches once they have been thrown into rocky crags.

When we consider the words in this verse, we discover how David knew when Jehovah God's judgment fell upon the wicked people who opposed him, they would perceive his pleasant and lovely speeches. Consequences are real, and when activity is carried out in wickedness, being thrown into rocky places is often the result. God wants to rescue people from this type of destruction, and death is the penalty for sin. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to be crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and bring judgment upon those who refuse to accept Him and act in pernicious ways according to His perfect timing and will.

Next time David says, Our bones are scattered at the grave's mouth, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
