In Psalms one hundred and thirty nine David said to Jehovah God, “How precious also are your thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them. If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with you”, and in chapter one hundred and thirty nine and verse nineteen of Psalms David said, “surely you will slay the wicked, O God” where we read,
Surely you will slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, you bloody men.
The verse begins, “Surely you will slay the wicked, O God:” David began with the words, “surely you will slay” or “truly or verily you, Jehovah God, shall put to death and kill” “the wicked” which means “the criminal, guilty of crimes, sinners, evil ones and people who are morally wrong”, “O God” or “O Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”. David said Jehovah God shall certainly kill and destroy people who are criminal and morally wrong.
The verse goes on to say, “depart from me therefore, you bloody men.” David continued with the words, “depart from me therefore” or “turn aside, be removed and taken away from me, David, wherefore, consequently and these things being so”, “you bloody men” which means “you bloodthirsty and bloodguilty human beings both male and female”. David commanded everyone who was “bloodguilty and bloodthirsty” to be taken away from him.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David knew Jehovah God would bring judgment upon people who are evil and morally wrong. God sets the standard for righteousness, and when people violate His laws, they are sinners, bloodguilty and bloodthirsty. David wanted these people to separate from him, and God wants the same for us. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for all the wickedness, evil and wrong that people commit, and when they humble themselves, repent of their sins and ask Jesus to come into their lives, He will save them, forgive them and grant them everlasting life. Let us commit the judgment of the “wicked” to Jehovah God, and may we surrender to His Son Jesus and give Him praise, honor and glory for all eternity.
Next time David says, “they speak against you wickedly”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
