Jehovah Alone Does Great Wonders - Psalms 136:4

In Psalms one hundred thirty six the Psalmist said, “O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endures for ever”, and in chapter one hundred and thirty six and verse four of Psalms the Psalmist shared how Jehovah God, “alone does great wonders” where we read,

To him who alone does great wonders: for his mercy endures for ever.

The verse begins, “To him who alone does great wonders: The Psalmist began with the words, “to him who alone” or “toward him, Jehovah God, only, solely and by Himself” “does great wonders” which means “fashions, performs and accomplishes large, numerous and exceedingly mighty marvelous and extraordinary accomplishments”. The Psalmist wanted his readers and listeners to “give thanks” to the only One who performs exceedingly numerous and mighty miracles.

The verse goes on to say, “for his mercy endures for ever. The Psalmist continued with the words, “for his mercy” or “because, since and on account that his, Jehovah God's, goodness, kindness and faithfulness” “endures for ever” which means “lasts and remains for long duration, unto futurity, everlasting, evermore, perpetually and unto perpetuity”. The Psalmist declared that Jehovah God is pleasant, good, kind and faithful, and these qualities shall remain unto perpetuity.

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist said Jehovah God solely performs exceedingly numerous and mighty accomplishments because His goodness, kindness and faithfulness is everlasting. God wants us to be in a personal intimate relationship with Him through His Son Jesus who was sent into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life help us recognize and give him praise for all the wonders and miracles He has performed.

Next time the Psalmist shares how Jehovah God, “by wisdom made the heavens”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
