Darkness Does Not Hide from God - Psalms 139:12

In Psalms one hundred and thirty nine David said “If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me”, and in chapter one hundred and thirty nine and verse twelve of Psalms David said to Jehovah God, the darkness hides not from youwhere we read,

Yes, the darkness hides not from you;

but the night shines as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to you.

The verse begins, “Yes, the darkness hides not from you; David began with the words, “Yes, the darkness” or “even so and indeed, the obscurity, misery, destruction, sorrow and wickedness” “hides not from you;” which means “in no way or manner grows dim, conceals, obscures and brings confusion separate and apart from you, Jehovah God”. David said obscurity and misery in no way conceals the presence of Jehovah God.

The verse continues, “but the night shines as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to you. David added the words, “but the night shines” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover the darkened nighttime lights up, illuminates and enlightens” “as the day” which means “similar and in likeness to the sunrise to sunset”: “the darkness” or “the obscurity, misery, destruction, sorrow and wickedness” “and the light” which means “and the illumination and brightness ” “are both alike to you” or “exist as luminous and a light of joy and happiness to you, Jehovah God”. David said nighttime is as luminous as the daytime, and obscurity and illumination are as a light of joy and happiness to Jehovah God.

When we think through David's words in this verse, we see how he declared “day and night” and “light and darkness” to be the same to Jehovah God. God is a “light” wherever He is, and He desires to be the “light” of our lives. He sent His Son Jesus to be the the light of the world and to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and be the “light” of our lives wherever we may go.

Next time David says, you have possessed my reigns, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
