Taking the Wings of the Morning - Psalms 139:9

In Psalms one hundred and thirty nine David asked Jehovah God, “Where shall I go from your spirit? or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend up into heaven, you are there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, you are there, and in chapter one hundred and thirty nine and verse nine of Psalms David began to share what will happen, If I take the wings of the morningwhere we read,

If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

The verse begins, If I take the wings of the morning, ... David began with the words, “If I take the wings” or “whether and in case I, David, lift up, support, sustain and exalt the extremities, borders, corners or flaps” “of the morning” which means “belonging to the early light, dawn and break of day”. David considered the idea of him taking flight with the early dawn or sunrise.

The verse goes on to say, “... and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; David continued with the words, “and dwell” or “and abide, live and make habitation” “in the uttermost parts” which means “within the hinder-most, remnant and last portion” “of the sea” or “belonging to the large body of water such as the Red, Dead and Mediterranean Seas”. David considered the idea of him abiding within the hinder-most portion of the “sea”.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David continued to think about the different places in the world that he could be located. The early dawn and the furtherest part of the “sea” would not be far enough away to escape the presence of Jehovah God. God is everywhere, and there is no place we go that He is not there. He sees us. He loves us, and His desire is to have an intimate personal relationship with us through His Son Jesus who died on the cross for our sins. When we believe and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and teach us to be aware of His presence regardless of where we are in the world.

Next time David says, even there shall your hand lead me, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
