In Psalms one hundred thirty five the Psalmist said, “Bless the LORD, O house of Israel: bless the LORD, O house of Aaron”, and in chapter one hundred thirty five and verse twenty of Psalms the Psalmist says, “Bless the LORD, O house of Levi” where we read,
Bless the LORD, O house of Levi: you that fear the LORD, bless the LORD.
The verse begins, “Bless the LORD, O house of Levi:” The Psalmist began with the words, “Bless the LORD” or “adore, praise, salute and congratulate Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”, “O house of Levi” which means “O dwelling place, habitation and abode belonging to Levi whose name means joined to and was the third son of Jacob by Leah and progenitor of the tribe of Levites”. The Psalmist called upon the people within the dwelling places of “Levi” to give praise, honor, glory and adoration to Jehovah God.
The verse continues, “you that fear the LORD, bless the LORD.” The Psalmist added the words, “you that fear the LORD” or “you people who are morally respect and are in awe of Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”, “bless the LORD” which means “adore, praise, salute and congratulate Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. The Psalmist beckoned people who reverence, respect and are in awe of Jehovah God to give Him adoration and praise.
When we consider the Psalmist's words in this verse, we discover how he wanted the people who lived in the dwelling places of “Levi” as well as those who were in awe of Jehovah God to give Him honor, glory and adoration. Anyone who surrenders their life to God's Son Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord” shall give Him glory and honor because they recognize He died on the cross for their sins. God wants us to “bless” Him, and when we do, we are blessed in return. Let us follow the instructions of the Psalmist and give Him praise, honor and glory for all eternity.
Next time the Psalmist says, “Bless be the LORD out of Zion”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
