In Psalms one hundred thirty six the Psalmist said of Jehovah God, “remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endures for ever. And has redeemed us from our enemies: for his mercy endures for ever”, and in chapter one hundred and thirty six and verse twenty-five of Psalms the Psalmist shared how Jehovah God, “gives food to all flesh” where we read,
Who gives food to all flesh: for his mercy endures for ever.
The verse begins, “Who gives food to all flesh:” The Psalmist began with the words, “who gives food” or “who, Jehovah God, put, set, grants, bestows, ascribes and devotes bread, grain, meat and victuals” “to all flesh” which means “to each, every, the whole and everyone's bodies”. The Psalmist shared how Jehovah God provides sustenance and nourishment to everyone's bodies.
The verse continues, “for his mercy endures for ever.” The Psalmist added the words, “for his mercy” or “because, since and on account that his, Jehovah God's, goodness, kindness and faithfulness” “endures for ever” which means “lasts and remains for long duration, unto futurity, everlasting, evermore, perpetually and unto perpetuity”. The Psalmist reiterated how Jehovah God is pleasant, good, kind and faithful, and these characteristics shall remain for all eternity.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist included everyone in God's provision of nourishment for their bodies. God provides “breath, meat, drink and substance” for people, and even though this is in different portions throughout the world, God is responsible for people. He provided salvation for eternity to every person who yield to His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and provide for our bodies and spirits according to His Divine will and purpose for our lives.
Next time the Psalmist says, “give thanks unto the God of heaven”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
