Keeping God's Testimonies - Psalms 119:2

In Psalms one hundred nineteen the Psalmist said, “Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD”, and in chapter one hundred nineteen and verse two of Psalms the Psalmist said, “Blessed are they that keep his testimonies where we read,

Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.

The verse begins with the words, Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, ... The Psalmist began with the words, “blessed are they” or “O how happy exist the people whether male or female” “that keep his testimonies” which means “who guard, watch over and preserve his, Jehovah God's, witness”. The Psalmist said people who watch over and observe Jehovah God's witness exist as O how happy.

The verse goes on to say, “... and that seek him with the whole heart.” The Psalmist continued with the words, “and that seek him” or “and who resort to, frequent, consult and inquire of him, Jehovah God” “with the whole heart” which means “by the use of the total, entire and all of the soul, mind, will, desires, living being, understanding and seat of emotions and passions”. The Psalmist included people who resort to, frequent and consult Jehovah God with all their souls, minds and wills.

When we think through the Psalmist's words in this verse, we learn how people who observe Jehovah God's witness and resort to Him with their entire souls exist as O how happy. God wants us to know He is available to us, and He wants us to live according to His ways. He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and anyone who believes and trusts in Him will be forgiven of their sins, granted eternal life and encouraged to “keep his testimonies” and “seek him” with their entire souls so they may exist as O how happy in this life and in the life to come.

Next time we see the Psalmist say, “they also do no iniquity”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
