My Soul Faints For Your Salvation - Psalms 119:81

Psalms one hundred nineteen and verse eighty-one begins the next section of the chapter with the Hebrew letter “CAPH” where the Psalmist said to Jehovah God, “My soul faints for your salvation” where we read,

My soul faints for your salvation: but I hope in your word.

The verse begins, My soul faints for your salvation: The Psalmist began with the words, “my soul faints” or “my, the Psalmist's, heart, mind, will, desires, living being, conscience and seat of emotions and passions is spent, used up, exhausted and perishing” “for your salvation” which means “on behalf of your, Jehovah God's, rescue, deliverance and liberation”. The Psalmist said his heart, mind and will was spent and exhausted with the desire for the rescue and deliverance of Jehovah God.

The verse goes on to say,but I hope in your word.” The Psalmist added the words, “but I hope” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover I, the Psalmist, live in expectation, waiting and tarrying” “in your word” which means “within your, Jehovah God's, speech, utterance, sayings, manner and acts”. The Psalmist shared how he placed his tarrying and expectation within the utterance and sayings of Jehovah God.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how the Psalmist passionately desired to have Jehovah God's deliverance in his life, and his expectation was that God would liberate Him because He said He would. God alone is able to save a person for all eternity, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to be crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind so that everyone may be included. God will give His “salvation” to every person who humbles themselves, repents of their sins and invites Jesus to come into their lives. God offers forgiveness of sins, everlasting life in Heaven with Him and deliverance from the sin and shame that is of this world to everyone who surrenders to Him, and in His “word” we may place our “hope”.

Next time the Psalmist says to Jehovah God, “My eyes fail for your word”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
