The Day Which the LORD has Made - Psalms 118:24

In Psalms one hundred eighteen the Psalmist said, “the stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvelous in our eyes”, and in chapter one hundred eighteen and verse twenty-four of Psalms the Psalmist said, “this is the day which the LORD has made” where we read,

This is the day which the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

The verse begins with the words, This is the day which the LORD has made; The Psalmist began with the words, “this is the day” or “this, the making of Jesus to be the chief cornerstone, exists as the time and moment” “which the LORD” which means “that Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “has made” or “fashioned, accomplished and produced”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God was responsible for the timing that His Son Jesus to be the “chief cornerstone”.

The verse continues, “we will rejoice and be glad in it.” The Psalmist added the words, “we will rejoice” or “we, the Psalmist and his people, shall exult, be joyful and spin around with emotions” “and be glad in it” which means “and exist as gladdened, gleeful, cheered up and merry within God making Jesus the chief cornerstone”. The Psalmist said he and his people would spin around with joy and be gleeful in God making Jesus the chief cornerstone. (See Matthew 28:1-8)

When we consider the Psalmist's words in this verse, we learn not only that Jehovah God was responsible for the timing of His Son Jesus being made the chief cornerstone, but also how the Psalmist and his people were gleeful and merry to the point of spinning around with joy because of it. People who realize that God exalted His Son Jesus to this position for our salvation rejoice as well. God loves us, and He sent Jesus into the world to die on the cross for our sins. When we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us a reason to join all creation in giving praise, honor and glory to Him.

Next time the Psalmist says, “Save now, I beseech you, O LORD”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
