Lord, Hear My Voice - Psalms 130:2

In Psalms one hundred thirty the Psalmist said, “Out of the depths have I cried unto you, O LORD”, and in chapter one hundred thirty and verse two of Psalms the Psalmist said, “Lord, hear my voice” where we read,

Lord, hear my voice: let your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.

The verse begins, “Lord, hear my voice: The Psalmist began with the word, “Lord” or “Yahweh or Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”, “hear my voice” which means “listen to, obey, perceive and give heed to my, the Psalmist's, sound and noise of uttered words”. The Psalmist called upon Jehovah God to give audience to the sound of his uttered words.

The verse goes on to say, “let your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. The Psalmist continued with the words, “let your ears” or “allow and permit your, Jehovah God's, organ for hearing and giving audience” “be attentive” which means “exist as hearkening, wrapped, engrossed and absorbed” “to the voice” or “toward the sound and noise of uttered words” “of my supplications” which means “pertaining to my, the Psalmist's, entreaties and earnest prayers”. The Psalmist called upon Jehovah God to be engrossed and absorbed within the sound of his earnestly spoken uttered words.

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist appealed to Jehovah God to pay attention to his words, and he wanted Him to be engrossed in his earnest prayers. God wants us to cry out to Him, and He does hear us when we pray. He gave us His Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins, and when we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and “be attentive” to our “voices” and our passionate entreaties to Him.

Next time the Psalmist asks what happens, “If you, LORD, should mark iniquities”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
