The Right Hand of the LORD - Psalms 118:16

In Psalms one hundred eighteen the Psalmist said, “The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation. The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD does valiantly”, and in chapter one hundred eighteen and verse sixteen of Psalms the Psalmist said, “the right hand of the LORD is exalted” where we read,

The right hand of the LORD is exalted: the right hand of the LORD does valiantly.

The verse begins, The right hand of the LORD is exalted: The Psalmist began with the words, “the right hand” or “the right hand of power, might, authority and strength” “of the LORD” which means “belonging to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “is exalted” or “exists as lifted, risen and raised up”. The Psalmist declared Jehovah God's right hand of power and authority to be lifted and raised up.

The verse goes on to say, “the right hand of the LORD does valiantly.” The Psalmist continued with the words, “the right hand” or “the right hand of power, might, authority and strength” “of the LORD” which means “belonging to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “does valiantly” or “fashions, accomplishes, makes and produces efficiency, wealth, might and ability”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God's “right hand” of authority and power fashions and performs mighty and efficient works

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist referred once again to the “right hand” of power and might of Jehovah God as he declared it to be lifted up and raised. He said Jehovah God's “right hand” of authority is able to perform efficient and mighty acts, and anyone who takes the time to study God's word and learn of Him will find His power and might to be “exalted” above all others. When we realize He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, we understand He desires to have a personal relationship with us. God will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness when we humble ourselves and repent before Him. God's “right hand” is available for everyone who will yield to Him and His way of salvation.

Next time the Psalmist says, “I shall not die, but live”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
