Forgiveness with God - Psalms 130:4

In Psalms one hundred thirty the Psalmist asked, “If you, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?”, and in chapter one hundred thirty and verse four of Psalms the Psalmist said, “But there is forgiveness with you” where we read,

But there is forgiveness with you, that you may be feared.

The verse begins, “But there is forgiveness with you, ... The Psalmist began with the words, “but there is forgiveness” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover amnesty and pardon exists” “with you” which means “alongside and accompanied by you, Jehovah God”. The Psalmist said pardon and amnesty accompany Jehovah God.

The verse goes on to say, “... that you may be feared. The Psalmist continued with the words, “that you may be” or “so you, Jehovah God, might exist as” “feared” which means “revered, held in awe and honored”. The Psalmist said the result of the “forgiveness” existing with Jehovah God would be that He would be revered and held in awe.

When we meditate upon the Psalmist's words in this verse, we discover how pardon exists with Jehovah God. God wants to forgive our sins, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all people. When we surrender our lives to Him, He will indeed “forgive” our sins, grant us everlasting life and motivate us to keep Him in awe all the days of our lives according to His plan of salvation.

Next time the Psalmist says to Jehovah God, “I wait for the LORD”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
