In Psalms one hundred thirty two the Psalmist said, “Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah: we found it in the fields of the wood”, and in chapter one hundred thirty two and verse seven of Psalms the Psalmist said, “we will go into his tabernacles” where we read,
We will go into his tabernacles: we will worship at his footstool.
The verse begins, “We will go into his tabernacles:” The Psalmist began with the words, “we will go” or “we, David and his fellow countrymen shall enter, be enumerated and come” “into his tabernacles” which means “into his, Jehovah God's, dwelling place, habitation are residence”. The Psalmist shared how he and his fellow countrymen resolved to enter into the dwelling place of Jehovah God.
The verse goes on to say, “we will worship at his footstool.” The Psalmist continued with the words, “we will worship” or “we, David and his fellow countrymen, shall bow down, prostrate themselves and reverence” “at his footstool” which means “at his, Jehovah God's, stool upon which one's foot is placed”. The Psalmist shared how David and his countrymen were determined to make obesiance to Jehovah God at the place upon which He places His feet.
When we think through the words in this verse, we learn how David not only resolved to enter into Jehovah God's dwelling place, but also to adore and reverence Him where He lay His feet. The idea is “worship and submission” to Jehovah God. God wants to have a personal relationship with us through His Son Jesus who died on the cross for our sins, and when we surrender our lives to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and make a provision for us to better ourselves by giving Him worship and thanksgiving within His dwelling place and at the place He rests His feet.
Next time the Psalmist says, “Arise, O LORD, into your rest”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
