In Psalms one hundred thirty four the Psalmist said, “Behold, bless you the LORD, all you servants of the LORD, which by night stand in the house of the LORD”, and in chapter one hundred thirty four and verse two of Psalms the Psalmist said, “Lift up your hands in the sanctuary” where we read,
Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the LORD.
The verse begins, “Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, ...” The Psalmist began with the words, “Lift up your hands” or “stretch forth and raise your, the servants of the LORD's, physical hands” “in the sanctuary” which means “within the sacred dwelling, habitation, shelter and abode”. The Psalmist called upon the “servants of the LORD” to raise their “hands” within the sacred worship place.
The verse goes on to say, “... and bless the LORD.” The Psalmist continued with the words, “and bless” or “and praise, adore and salute” “the LORD” which means “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name of the One True God”. The Psalmist called upon the “servants of the LORD” to praise and adore Jehovah God.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist called upon the “servants of the LORD” to raise their physical “hands” and praise and adore Jehovah God. In other words, those who believe and trust in God and His Son Jesus are to raise their “hands” and worship God in His Holy worship place. God sent Jesus into the world to be crucified on the cross for our sins, and when we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and encourage us to join with worshipers of Jesus around the world in lifting our hands and giving Him honor, thanksgiving and praise.
Next time the Psalmist says, “the LORD that made heaven and earth bless you”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
