In Psalms one hundred thirty four the Psalmist said, “Behold, bless you the LORD, all you servants of the LORD, which by night stand in the house of the LORD. Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the LORD”, and in chapter one hundred thirty four and verse three of Psalms the Psalmist said, “the LORD that made heaven and earth bless you” where we read,
The LORD that made heaven and earth bless you out of Zion.
The verse begins, “The LORD that made heaven and earth bless you out ...” The Psalmist began with the words, “the LORD” or “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “that made heaven” which means “who fashioned, accomplished, produced, prepared, attended to, celebrated and observed the visible skies, atmosphere and abode of Jehovah God” “and earth” or “and territory, region, district and world” “bless you” which means “praise, adore and celebrate you, the servants of the LORD”. The Psalmist called upon Jehovah God who is the Creator of “heaven and earth” to adore and celebrate the people who are His “servants” who worship Him.
The verse continues, “... out of Zion.” The Psalmist added the word, “out” or “from the origin” “of Zion” which means “belonging to Zion whose name means parched place and is another name for Jerusalem especially in the prophetic books”. The Psalmist referred to Jehovah God blessing people from the city of “Zion” or “Jerusalem”.
When we meditate upon the Psalmist's words in this verse, we see how he spoke specifically as to who deserves the worship, praise and lifting of hands of the “servants of Jehovah God”. God is worthy of our praise, and because He sent His Son Jesus into Jerusalem to die on the cross for all our sins, we may have a personal relationship with Him when we believe and trust in Him. God proved His love toward us in Zion, and as we humble ourselves in praise and lift our hands to Him, we receive forgiveness for our sins, salvation for eternity and life forever with Him in Heaven.
Next time we begin a new chapter and see the Psalmist say, “praise you the LORD”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
