Praise the Good LORD - Psalms 135:3

In Psalms one hundred thirty five the Psalmist said, “Praise you the LORD. Praise you the name of the LORD; praise him, O you servants of the LORD. You that stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God, ...”, and in chapter one hundred thirty five and verse three of Psalms the Psalmist said, “Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good” where we read,

Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant.

The verse begins, “Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good: The Psalmist began with the words, “Praise the LORD” or “shine forth, be boastful, commend and give glory to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”; “for the LORD” which means “because, since and on account that Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name of the One True God” “is good” or “exists as pleasant, agreeable, excellent, rich and valuable”. The Psalmist called upon the people who remained in the “courts of the LORD” to give honor and glory to Jehovah God because He exists as excellent, pleasant and valuable.

The verse goes on to say, “sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant. The Psalmist continued with the words, “sing praises” or “make music with voices and instruments of shining forth, being boastful, commending and giving glory” “unto his name” which means “to his, Jehovah God's, fame, reputation and glory”; “for it is pleasant” or “because, since and on account that it, Jehovah God's name, exists as delightful, sweet, lovely, agreeable and beautiful”. The Psalmist called upon the people to make musical worship to the fame, reputation and glory of Jehovah God because His “name” is lovely and beautiful.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist wanted people reading and listening to his words to give honor and glory to Jehovah God, and they were to use their voices and musical instruments to worship Him. God's fame, reputation and glory are lovely and agreeable, and when we give Him “praise” with our voices and songs, we align with Hes desire for us. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to be crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and provide all eternity for us to give Him honor and glory with our words and songs.

Next time the Psalmist says, “the LORD has chosen Jacob unto himself”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
