In Psalms one hundred thirty five the Psalmist said, “Praise you the LORD. Praise you the name of the LORD; praise him, O you servants of the LORD”, and in chapter one hundred thirty five and verse two of Psalms the Psalmist addressed, “You that stand in the house of the LORD” where we read,
You that stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God,
The verse begins, “You that stand in the house of the LORD, ...” The Psalmist began with the words, “you that stand” or “you people both male and female who remain, endure, continue and persist” “in the house” which means “within the dwelling place, abode and habitation” “of the LORD” or “belonging to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. The Psalmist addressed the people who remain and endure within Jehovah God's dwelling place.
The verse continues, “... in the courts of the house of our God, ...” The Psalmist added the words, “in the courts” or “within the enclosure, abode, settlement, village and town” “of the house” which means “pertaining to the dwelling place, abode and habitation” “of our God” or “belonging to our, the Psalmist and his people's, Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”. The Psalmist added that these were people who remained within the enclosures belonging to the Divine judge's dwelling place.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David put his attention on the people who remained within Jehovah God's abode. God loves people, and He made His place of worship so people could come to worship Him. God is to be first in our lives, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. (See Matthew 6:33) When we yield to Him as our personal “Lord and Savior”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and provide a place of worship in the world and in our hearts where we may remain in fellowship with Him.
Next time the Psalmist says, “Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
