In Psalms one hundred thirty five the Psalmist said, “Praise you the LORD”, and in chapter one hundred thirty five and verse one we read,
Praise you the LORD. Praise you the name of the LORD; praise him, O you servants of the LORD.
The verse begins, “Praise you the LORD. Praise you the name of the LORD;” The Psalmist began with the words, “Praise you the LORD” or “people reading and listening to the Psalmist's words shine forth, boast and commend Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. “Praise you the name” which means “shine forth, boast and commend the fame, reputation and glory” “of the LORD” or “belonging to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. The Psalmist called upon people reading and listening to his words to shine forth, boast and commend Jehovah God and His fame reputation and glory.
The verse goes on to say, “praise him, O you servants of the LORD.” The Psalmist continued with the words, “praise him” or “shine forth, boast and commend the to fame, reputation and glory of Jehovah God”, “O you servants” which means “O you bondmen, men of servile condition, slaves and worshipers” “of the LORD” or “belonging to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. The Psalmist called upon the “servants” of Jehovah God again to give Him honor, adoration and thanksgiving.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist continued the idea of giving adoration and exultation to Jehovah God. As His “people of servile condition and worshipers”, we have the privilege os giving him thanksgiving for providing salvation through His Son Jesus who came into the world to die on the cross and be raised from the dead three days later. When we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and provide us with opportunities to give Him honor and praise for all eternity.
Next time the Psalmist addresses, “You that stand in the house of the LORD”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
