In Psalms one hundred thirty two the Psalmist said, “Arise, O LORD, into your rest; you, and the ark of your strength”, and in chapter one hundred thirty two and verse nine the Psalmist said, “ Let your priests be clothed with righteousness” where we read,
Let your priests be clothed with righteousness; and let your saints shout for joy.
The verse begins, “Let your priests be clothed with righteousness;” The Psalmist began with the words, “Let your priests” or “allow and permit your, Jehovah God's, chief and high priests and rulers” “be clothed with righteousness” which means “be dressed, arrayed and displayed with rightness, justice, deliverance, victory and prosperity”. The Psalmist wanted Jehovah God to allow His chief priests and rulers to be array with rightness, justice, victory and prosperity.
The verse goes on to say, “and let your saints shout for joy.” The Psalmist continued with the words, “and let your saints” or “and allow and permit your, Jehovah God's, faithful, kind, godly, holy and pious ones to” “shout for joy” which means “be overcome with a ringing cry, exultation and praise”. The Psalmist called upon Jehovah God to allow His godly and pious ones to give a ringing cry of praise and exultation.
When we meditate upon the Psalmist's words in this verse, we see how he involved the “priests and saints” in the adoration and praise of Jehovah God. God wants us to be in fellowship and communion with Him, and He provided His Son Jesus to the world to be crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we humble ourselves, repent of our sins and ask Him to come into our lives, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and assemble us as his “priests and saints” who worship Him for all eternity.
Next time the Psalmist says, “for your servant David's sake turn not away”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
