In Psalms one hundred thirty the Psalmist said, “Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption”, and in chapter one hundred thirty and verse eight of Psalms the Psalmist said concerning Jehovah God, “he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities” where we read,
And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
The verse begins, “And he shall redeem Israel ...” The Psalmist began with the words, “and he shall redeem” or “and he, Jehovah God, will ransom, rescue and deliver” “Israel” which means “God prevails and is the name of the descendants and the nation of the descendants of Jacob”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God would deliver and rescue the nation of “Israel”.
The verse goes on to say, “... from all his iniquities.” The Psalmist continued with the words, “from all” or “separate and apart from each, every, the whole and everyone of” “his iniquities” which means “his, Israel's, perversities, depravities, guilty conditions, faults and sins”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God would separate the nation of “Israel” from each and every one of their perversities and sins.
When we think through the Psalmist's words in this verse, we learn how Jehovah God would rescue and deliver the nation of “Israel” from each and every one of their faults and sins. This is God's desire for all people, and He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind to make this possible. When we trust in, rely upon and cling to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and rescue us from every one of our depravities and perversities so that we may live with Him in Heaven forever.
Next time we begin a new chapter and see David say, “LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor my eyes lofty”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
