House of Aaron Saying the LORD'S Mercy Endures Forever - Psalms 118:3

In Psalms one hundred eighteen the Psalmist said, “Let Israel now say, that his mercy endures for ever”, and in chapter one hundred eighteen and verse three of Psalms the Psalmist said, “Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endures for ever” where we read,

Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endures for ever.

The verse begins with the words, Let the house of Aaron now say, ... The Psalmist began with the words, “Let the house” or “allow and permit the dwelling, habitation and abode”“of Aaron” which means “belonging to Aaron whose name means light bringer and was the brother of Moses and a Levite and the first high priest” “now say” or “at this present moment and time utter, declare and proclaim” the following. The Psalmist exhorted the people who belonged to the dwelling and abode of “Aaron” to utter, declare and proclaim the following words.

The verse goes on to say, “... that his mercy endures for ever..” The Psalmist continued with the words, “that his mercy” or “that his, Jehovah God's, goodness, kindness and faithfulness” “endures for ever” which means “lasts and remains for long duration, unto futurity, everlasting, perpetually, evermore and unto perpetuity”. The Psalmist instructed the people in the “house of Aaron” to proclaim that Jehovah God's goodness, kindness and faithfulness remains eternally.

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist added the people who belonged to “Aaron” to declared the goodness and kindness of Jehovah God. God is merciful and gracious, and He sent His Son Jesus into world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. He wants us to live with Him for all eternity, and when we yield our lives to Jesus, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to be among the people who openly tell others about the goodness and faithfulness of Almighty God.

Next time the Psalmist says, “Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endures for ever”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
