Those Fearing the Lord Saying His Mercy Endures Forever - Psalms 118:4

In Psalms one hundred eighteen the Psalmist said, “Let Israel now say, that his mercy endures for ever. Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endures for ever”, and in chapter one hundred eighteen and verse four of Psalms the Psalmist said, “Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endures for ever” where we read,

Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endures for ever.

The verse begins with the words, Let them now that fear the LORD say, ... The Psalmist began with the words, “Let them now” or “allow and permit the people who are as follows at this time and moment”“that fear the LORD” which means “who are afraid, reverent to and in awe of Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “say” or “utter, declare and proclaim” the following. The Psalmist called upon the people who reverence and give awe to Jehovah God to utter the following words.

The verse continues, “... that his mercy endures for ever..” The Psalmist added the words, “that his mercy” or “that his, Jehovah God's, goodness, kindness and faithfulness” “endures for ever” which means “lasts and remains for long duration, unto futurity, everlasting, perpetually, evermore and unto perpetuity”. The Psalmist exhorted the people who revere and are in awe of Jehovah God to proclaim that Jehovah God's goodness, kindness and faithfulness remains eternally.

When we consider the Psalmist's words in this verse, we see how he instructed people who revere Jehovah God to make proclamations concerning God's goodness, kindness and faithfulness. Everyone who learns how much God loves them should tell others about His eternal “mercy”, and when we consider that God sent His Son Jesus into the world to be crucified for our sins, we should believe and trust in Him as our personal “Lord and Savior”. When we yield to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and extend His “mercy” to us forever and ever. This news is to be proclaimed, and we join with Israel, Aaron and those who “fear” Jehovah God when we do.

Next time the Psalmist says, “I called upon the LORD in distress”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
